The interview was quite revealing to the uninformed. My wife and I have met with her and we are enthusiastic supporters. She is intelligent. Besides, a Reed graduate, is a breath of fresh air and reality in Congress.

Too many members of Congress are from wealthy families and have never faced the real world, therefore their policy views are based on abstractions rather than the real world.

The former President in a classic Example. I doubt that he has ever had dirt under his fingernails or being restricted by by a household budget. Many members of Congress that hold and paid tuition to enter Ivey League shools suffer the same ignorance. This is a real problem.

I’ve had a couple brief exchanges with Rep. Perez. She’s engaging, down to earth and practical. I don’t always agree with her votes, but she defends them logically and I accept that. She’s had two bills pass the House, nearly 10% of the 27 bills passed, says a lot for a first-term congressman. She’s focused on real-world, real-people issues important to SW Washington.
