I so appreciate your attention to this, Andre. Have the Portland media been alerted? Elect clowns, expect a circus!

If Douche wanted extended vacations he should've stuck with retirement. So where's the sequel to this story? Any followup? Where is Swanson in her lawsuit? Did douche get his vacation? Did the illegal voters get their karma yet?

This must be the most left slanted article I’ve read in a minute. And that’s really saying something these days. Anyone who advocates for a city manager who cost this city over a million dollars due to her mismanagement of staff, is not to be taken seriously. Hiring the mayor’s spouse is the definition of nepotism. The citizens of Longview spoke clearly: We are sick of the status quo and are pleased as punch that THIS council is doing, rapidly, what we hired them to do.

You obviously are just believing what you read on Facebook and didn’t do the research to know that there was no million dollar lawsuit. It’s been reported by more reputable sources than Facebook, and even confirmed by the city that it was settled out of court, with no fault for $104,000. The timeline shared on Facebook is inaccurate as well since two employees were laid off (not fired) during Covid in 2020 and David Wallis wasn’t hired until 2023. He wasn’t hired by his wife, the council only hires/fires the city manager. Your nepotism claim is invalid. Mr. Wallis applied and went through an interview process just like other applicants and came out on top from two different panels. Learn Longview’s form of government… the city manager runs the city, the council is a policy making body. Get facts from reputable sources. Obviously this council is going to do whatever it wants, but breaking the law in the process is just going to cause more trouble for them and really cost the city money. They could’ve done things the correct way but nothing has been the right way since they were elected.

And doing it illegally is OK with you apparently. Just as the people have to abide by the laws, so does our government and its officials. I say trial by jury in a far away county or notify Federal Officials and demand an investigation! I like the latter of the two and think you should be investigated too.
