HA! Talking about how it will save the city money while he and his cronies refuse to pay their own legal fees and voted to have taxpayers foot the bill. Now they're making cuts to city departments? And wanting to discontinue fluoride touting the cost savings while pushing this far right agenda item forward? It's honestly so demoralizing to be a resident right now.

Oh, for crying out loud. The council crackpots strike again!

Science backs the safe use of fluoridation and its beneficial use when used within specific guidelines. Those two councilmen sound like a couple of conspiracy theorists. What are they basing their claims on?

With all the turmoil and backdoor deals going on within this particular council one would think they have enough on their plate. Don't they have better things to do with their time on the council?

I hope this proposal is/was shut done and earmarked as frivolous non-factual time-consuming dribble.

The 50:reasons why document Halvorson attached to his Facebook post is not a scientific document and was written by mostly non-dentists. Don’t believe it as proof we need to stop fluoridation. Both the CDC and NIH say problems from too much fluoride are rare and it is mostly beneficial to all. If you’re concerned about too much fluoride, stop using fluoride toothpaste and mouthwash. That’s an easier and more personal solution, not taking it away from all of us. Halvorson has a pre-completed form to tell the City Council you support banning fluoride. I deleted all his opinion and wrote my own. Please consider doing this, also.

Dentists are not trained in toxicology. These prominent toxicologists say it's time to protect babies' brains from fluoride https://www.ehn.org/fluoride-and-childrens-health-2648120286.html

That article says “in higher levels” it’s toxic. Our fluoride is not at higher levels.

“The NTP review was designed to evaluate total fluoride exposure from all sources,” reports Rick Woychik, Ph.D. Director of the National Toxicology Program Fluoride doesn't just come from water. It's ubiquitous - in virtually all foods and beverages (very high in tea, ocean fish, grape products (yes wine, too). https://fluoridedangers.blogspot.com/2023/03/fluoride-abundant-in-foods-beverages.html There is no dispute that too much fluoride damages bones and children's teeth with dental fluorosis, now afflicting 70% of US children and adolescents; but no one researcher or gov't entity has bothered to determine how much brain damage they might have suffered from. This NTP study will either give multi millions of dollars to researchers and dental schools to keep using our children as lab rats in this ongoing experiment or challenge open-minded adults to vote out fluoridation wherever they live.

I came to note how profoundly sad I am that neither Andre's blog post nor any of the comments thus far refer to the international conspiracy to "sap our precious bodily fluids". Somewhere Peter Sellers and Stanley Kubrick are deeply disappointed in us all.

...As if this article in some way humanly possible is a positive thing for the "dumpfluoride" campaign? The "50 Reasons Why" attachment is fraught with errors, misinformation, and contradictory statements. Additionally, the article repeatedly says that there have been NO trials done to back any of their opinions. Perhaps this council should wait for studies with conclusions that validate their concerns before moving that fluoride be removed altogether.

Thank you for the information. I noticed quite quickly that a lot of the studies are related to conditions that are due to an excessive use of fluoride. I will try to take a look at some of the other links provided. Again, thank you.

Fluoride isn't a nutrient or essential for decay-free teeth. Rotten diets cause rotten teeth and no amount of fluoride has changed that in fluoridation's 79 year history. Besides, you don't have to take sides. Dentists warn that too much fluoride is harmful to bones and children's teeth. There is no dispute about that. The problem is that no one knows just how much fluoride they consume every day since it's in virtually all foods and beverages, even infant formula, in 20% of medicines, absorbed from dental products (even when not swallowed), it's component of air pollution, teflon and other fluoride containing chemicals that touch our food such as "forever" chemicals References here https://fluoridedangers.blogspot.com/2023/03/fluoride-abundant-in-foods-beverages.html
