Mayor Boudreau may be “maturing” to the job, but I’ll label it “too little, too late” as he faces re-election next year. He got the “gang of four” he always wanted but faces voter rejection long before the rest of his “gang.”
Governing is harder than it looks. Age and especially maturity helps IF the newly elected official has experience. Government is NOT like a business, the difference being business owners can write off expenses and losses, or just go bankrupt.
Government has a complicated accounting system that hinges on getting tax payer dollars to fund operations and using grants ( given by other cooperative taxpayer funded entities ) and others holdings to fund future projects. It takes finesse and relationship building and cooperation.
Get a pro that knows government accounting. Oh yeah, Longview had those pros in Sacha and Swanson. At least Battle Ground recognized that …….
What is it with LaFave and Duscha? He seems to delegate everything and does nothing himself. LaFave convinced everyone he was qualified, but now we have to spend $120,000 for a budget consultant because he can’t do that. What does he do and why is she pushing him on us?
Another "Shout Out" should go to André himeself for his vital coverage of the council. Keep it up, André,

A stopped clock is right twice per day.

That’s what we’d all like to know.
Would love to see Boudreau ousted from council and replaced with someone who truly cares about Longview and its residents.
