Paraphrasing a 1971 Seattle billboard: Will the last one leaving Longview City Hall, please turn out the lights! What city services will citizens lose to pay severance packages to staff who will be impossible to replace?

So much dysfunction and such little respect for residents' hard earned money that goes to taxes. When you get a whiff of a bad smell in the city, look to city hall, there's the rank.

It keeps getting worse. What a mess the council majority has created. Filling the staff vacancies will take a huge effort, distracting them from established city goals. This sudden crisis is all so unnecessary.

If they are able to find qualified candidates to even fill them. Most top candidates won’t consider applying to work for an agency in so much turmoil.
